Legal & Compliance
Privacy Policy for My Clock World
- We do not collect any personal information from children or families.
- We do not require user registration, accounts, or logins.
- We do not track physical location, contacts, photos, microphone, or browsing history.
- All learning records and unlocked clocks are stored strictly on your device.
- The App is completely ad-free — no advertising SDK is bundled with the App at all, so no ad network can be contacted, and no advertising identifier (GAID/IDFA) is collected or used.
- The child-facing interface contains no external links, no in-app web browsers, and no outbound navigation — a child can never be taken outside the App.
- The only outbound links (store page, this policy, feedback email) live in the grown-up area in Settings, protected by an Adult Parental Gate.
1. Introduction & Overview
This Privacy Policy governs the mobile application My Clock World ("the App"), developed and published by Syciot Studio ("Syciot", "we", "us", or "our").
We take children's online privacy with utmost seriousness. Our application architecture is designed from the ground up to comply strictly with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as applied to minors (GDPR-K), the Apple App Store Kids Category Guidelines, and the Google Play Families Policy.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We operate under a strict Zero Personal Data Collection standard. When using My Clock World, we do not request, access, collect, store, or transmit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII), including but not limited to:
- Names, usernames, nicknames, or birth dates
- Email addresses, phone numbers, or social profiles
- Precise or coarse physical geolocation (GPS / Wi-Fi)
- Photos, camera feed, videos, or microphone audio
- Device contacts, address books, or calendars
- Persistent advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) for cross-app behavioral tracking
The child-facing interface contains no social feeds, public chats, user-to-user messaging, file upload capabilities, external links, or in-app web browsers.
3. On-Device Local Storage (Zero Server Upload)
To deliver a seamless educational journey, the App stores lightweight user preference data exclusively on the local memory of your device:
- Selected clock style (Toy Clock, Edu Clock, Analog Clock, Antique Clock, Diver Clock)
- Selected wallpaper theme (Colored Pencil, Dreamy Time, Whimsical Forest) and master volume settings
- Challenge mode completion counts used to unlock secret timepieces
- Clock display preferences (hands visibility, colored hands, minute ring index)
This data is never uploaded, synced, or backed up to any cloud server operated by Syciot or third parties. Uninstalling or clearing app storage on your device will permanently erase this local configuration.
4. No Advertising
My Clock World displays no advertising. We deliberately ship an ad-free app, funded by a single optional one-time purchase rather than by ad revenue.
This is enforced at build time, not by policy alone:
- No Advertising SDK: no advertising SDK is bundled with the App — there is no ad library in the shipped build and no ad-related dependency in the project, so no ad request can be made.
- No Advertising Identifiers: we do not collect or process the device advertising identifier (GAID on Android, IDFA on iOS) for any purpose.
- No Profiling: there is no behavioral retargeting, interest-based ad targeting, or cross-app tracking of any kind.
- No Intrusive Formats: no offerwalls, pop-ups, or interstitials interrupting the learning flow — because there are no ads at all.
- Because we perform no tracking as defined by Apple, the App does not request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorisation on iOS.
If a future version ever introduces advertising, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and any advertising would comply with the Google Play Families Ads Policy and COPPA (contextual only, no behavioral tracking, no personal data collection).
5. External Links Are Confined to the Parental Gate
My Clock World is fully self-contained for children. The child-facing interface contains no external links, no in-app web browsers (WebView), no social media buttons, and no outbound navigation of any kind. Nothing a child can tap will take them out of the App, and no purchase flow, account screen, chat, or third-party website is reachable from within the App.
The only outbound links are placed in the grown-up area ("For Parents") in Settings, which is protected behind an Adult Parental Gate — an arithmetic challenge (a two-digit by one-digit multiplication) that preschool and elementary-age children cannot easily solve — in line with Apple Kids Category and Google Play Families requirements. That area, and nothing else, can open:
- the app's store page (to rate the app or check for updates),
- this privacy policy and the open-source license list in a web browser, and
- your email app, to send us feedback.
Any future outbound feature (for example an in-app purchase) will likewise be reachable only behind this Parental Gate.
6. No Tracking, No Ads — Minimal Error Reports Only
The App contains no advertising SDK, no usage-analytics SDK, and no behavioural tracking. The only technical information that can leave the device is a minimal error report, sent solely so that we can find and fix bugs.
- What is sent: the error's stack trace, the App version and build number, and the device model and operating-system version.
- What is NOT sent: names, email addresses, accounts, contacts, photos, microphone audio, precise location, the advertising identifier, any installation or device identifier, your child's answers, or any screen the child visited.
- Purpose: diagnosing and fixing errors only — never advertising, profiling, or usage analytics.
- Where it is processed: our error-reporting provider (Sentry) stores reports in the European Union (Frankfurt) on our behalf as a service provider. Reports are never sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
- Your control: you can switch this off at any time in Settings → Help Us Improve. While it is off, no error report is sent from that device (native crash reports stop from the next App launch).
Aggregate, anonymised performance summaries (such as crash-free session rates and store rating trends) are made visible to us by the Google Play Console and Apple App Store Connect as part of the store platform itself; those platform-level statistics are not collected by the App.
7. Parental Rights Under COPPA & GDPR
Parents and legal guardians maintain complete control over their child's digital presence:
- You may inquire about our data and child privacy safeguards at any time.
- Because we collect no personal data, child accounts, or cloud records, we hold no user profiles to inspect, modify, or delete. The only technical data we receive is the optional error report described in Section 6.
- If you contact our customer support via email, your correspondence email address is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is promptly deleted upon request.
8. Security Safeguards
Because no personal information travels over the network to external databases, your child's identity is safe from server-side security vulnerabilities, breaches, or unauthorized disclosures.
9. Policy Updates
We may periodically update this policy to reflect new version features or legal requirements. Updates will appear immediately on this page with a revised "Effective Date."
